My internet connection is slow:

The terminal could be in a position where there is a weak internet connection. Use the POS Steward to locate a position which has a strong internet connection. Alternatively, change the wifi connection from the 5 GHz frequency to the 2.4 GHz frequency.

Testing the internet connection

  1. First exit Kiosk Mode and exit the Redbox app if it is currently opened.

  2. On the dashboard, click the Tools folder, and select POS Steward.

  3. Select the Internet tab and scroll to the bottom of the list.

  6. Once complete it will show the current speed.

  7. Repeat the above steps until you have located a position with a strong internet connection.

Changing the frequency of the internet connection

Depending on the router and the internet provider, the setup can vary. Some routers with dual band frequencies, will display both frequencies on your terminals wifi settings.

  1. First exit Kiosk Mode and exit the Redbox app if it is currently opened.

  2. On the dashboard, select Settings.

  3. Select wifi.

  4. Select your wifi id with the 2.4 GHz

  5. Enter your wifi password

If you cannot see your 2.4 GHz wifi, please contact your internet provider for further assistance.

My terminal is printing slowly:

This issue has been identified on terminals running the Sunmi OS v3.2.54+, updating the terminal’s Redbox Restaurant app to v182 will resolve this issue.

Identifying which version of the Redbox Restaurant app your terminal is running

  1. With the Redbox Restaurant app open, click the menu (top left)

  2. At the bottom, see the versions number.

If you are running a version below v182, please contact your marketplace provider to request your terminal be moved to a higher version.

My terminal has logged me out, why?

Being logged out of your terminal can happen for many reasons, these include:

  • An outlet which has been assigned to the terminal has now been removed/deleted.

  • The terminals pin has been reset.

  • The outlet has manually logged off.

  • The system could not authenticate the outlet assigned to the terminal.

If the terminal has logged off, please restart the device. This can be down by holding down the power button and selecting Reboot.

On logging in, I am being asked for a device ID, what is this?

When loading the Redbox app, some terminals may display a Device ID input, this will require the user to manually input the serial number of the device. Without this the user will be unable to login to the Redbox App.

You can locate the serial number on the back of the device, or by navigating to main dashboard of the device → select the Tools folder → select POS Steward → Select Hardware, and locate the serial number for the device.
