This page explains the automatic ecommerce tracking your marketplace sends to Meta (Facebook/Instagram) via the Meta Pixel. This powers ad retargeting, conversion tracking for your Meta ad campaigns, and audience building.
What you need set up
To receive this data in your Meta account, you need a Meta Pixel ID added to your marketplace in Management. If you don't already have a Pixel, Meta's own guide covers creating one in Business Manager: Set up and install the Meta Pixel.
How to locate Meta Pixel ID: Redbox → Marketplaces → Select a Marketplace → Details → Analytics → Meta Pixel ID
(Note that the Meta App Events ID and Meta Client Token are not required for customer website tracking).
If you also run a branded mobile app and want app-based tracking (install attribution, in-app purchases), that needs a separate Meta App Events ID and Client Token. This will be supported in app version 7.0.x once available.

The table below shows exactly what data is sent with each event — in particular, whether item name and value/price are included.

This covers Meta's standard ecommerce events only, a small number of GA4 events (like login or viewing a promotion) don't have a direct Meta equivalent and aren't sent separately.
Good to know: CompleteRegistration only fires if the customer has accepted cookies before creating their account. If they register before responding to the cookie banner, this particular event won't be recorded for that customer.
How to see these events yourself
You don't need to wait for a report, you can watch events arrive live while testing your own site:
-
Meta Events Manager → Test Events (in your Meta Business/Ads account): open this, browse your site in another tab, and you'll see each event appear in real time along with the data it carries. This is the most reliable way to check things are working.
-
Meta Pixel Helper (a free Chrome extension): click its icon while on your site and it shows which Meta events have fired on the current page. Handy for a quick visual check, though it won't work in an incognito/private window unless you enable it for incognito in Chrome's extension settings.
In Test Events, PageView and CompleteRegistration sometimes show as "Event sent" (blue) rather than "Event received" (green) even when the data is correct — this is a known display quirk for those two specific events, not a sign anything's wrong.
