Sunmi Cloud Printer Setup Guide

This guide covers the physical setup of a SUNMI Cloud Printer and connecting it to your Wi-Fi network via the SUNMI Assistant App.

Pre-setup Requirements

The following items are required to complete the setup process:

  • Smartphone device with Bluetooth and access to the iOS or Play Store

  • Stable, secure Wi-Fi network and the Wi-Fi network password

To connect the printer to an outlet after setup, you must have access to Redbox Management → Businesses → Devices. Contact your administrator if you do not have this access.

Step 1: Powering on the SUNMI Cloud Printer

  1. Open the paper latch, load the device with thermal printing paper, and close it firmly.

  2. Plug in the power cable and turn on the device.

Step 2: Downloading the SUNMI Assistant App

Download the official SUNMI Assistant App for iOS or Android using the links below, then register a new account or sign in to an existing account.

Important: SUNMI Account Creation Guidelines
Before proceeding to bind a SUNMI Cloud Printer to the app, note the following:

  • The SUNMI Assistant App login credentials used for initial setup may be required to reconnect the device if it goes offline. Ensure the outlet retains access to the email and account used to bind the device.

  • One device can only be bound to one SUNMI account at a time.

  • Access to the bound account is required to unbind a device if you wish to make it available for another SUNMI account.

Step 3: Network Pairing via Bluetooth

  1. 📱 Ensure the smartphone Bluetooth is turned on.

  2. 📱 Open the SUNMI Assistant App, sign in, and navigate to the 'Device' section via the bottom navigation bar.

  3. 📱 Select the 'Add' button and choose 'Cloud Printer' as the device type.

  4. 🖨️ Locate the network pairing button at the rear of the SUNMI Printer.

  5. 🖨️ Press and hold the network pairing button until an audio message plays from the device.

  6. 📱 When prompted by the app, scan the QR code or enter the Serial Number found on the label at the base of the printer to complete network pairing.

Step 4: Selecting Wi-Fi Network and Connecting to SUNMI Cloud

  1. 📱 Select the local Wi-Fi network from the list generated within the app.

  2. 📱 Enter the Wi-Fi password and select connect.

  3. 🖨️ The device is ready to connect to Redbox Management once you hear a network confirmation audio message and the 'Network Indicator' light turns solid blue.
